72: Jack-o-Lantern

The October 2019 contest is a pumpkin carving contest! Okay, not exactly pumpkin carving, more like pumpkin-shaped magnet sculpting. To participate, you’ll need to first create a “pumpkin” out of magnets. This can be 2D or 3D, up to you. 2D will be easier to manipulate your design. Step 2, carve that pumpkin up! Step 3, photograph your stunning creation and submit it here for judging. Step 4, have a Happy Halloween.

Requirements:

• Only 5mm magnet spheres allowed.
• Any color/brand of magnet spheres okay.
• No photo manipulation or collages aside from color balance and levels.
• Limit one entry per person.
• Deadline October 31, 2019

As usual, the judges will be your peers. Pay attention to resolution, focus, lighting, and obviously framing because that’s part of the title. Avoid your bright reflective flash, and opt for a self timer and a tripod (or stand.) Sharp, high resolution pictures are preferred. $300 in prizes is up for grabs and distribution will depend on participation. There will be at least five winners. Prizes will be announced with judging. Everything you submit goes into the public domain. Submission deadline is the October 31, 2019.
